About Digital India Bhashini Mission
Digital India Bhashini Mission is on a mission to leverage natural language technologies to build an inclusive ecosystem that transcends language barriers, empowering the digital future of an Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Our vision is to develop a public digital platform that offers open-source AI models for Indian languages, enabling speech-to-text, text-to-speech conversion, optical character recognition, and language translation/transliteration. To achieve this, we require high-quality language datasets, and we are currently collecting voice data through interactions from across Manipur.

The voice data collection is starting in the 2nd week of October for Imphal West. The joining of the Intern is prior to this.

Role of the Intern - Coordinating with pariticipants of voice data collection
As an Intern with us, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our voice data collection efforts. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Identifying potential participants for interactions in Imphal West.
2. Preliminary assessment of participant suitability from our database.
3. Scheduling interactions with shortlisted participants.
4. Maintaining continuous coordination with participants to ensure their active participation.

You will receive comprehensive training to excel in these tasks.

Qualities We Expect from You
We are looking for an intern who possesses the following qualities:
1. Ability to communicate confidently in Manipuri.
2. A pleasant and engaging personality.
3. Proficiency in English communication.
4. Native Manipuri speaker (knowledge of reading Meitei Mayek is advantageous).
5. Familiarity with MS Excel, Google Docs, and Email. Owning a laptop is preferred but not mandatory.

Non-Negotiable Condition
This is a full-time engagement with working hours from 9 am to 5 pm.

Location of Work
Most of the interactions and recording sessions will take place at a reputable hotel in Imphal, such as Hotel Imolesh. You may also be required to work at our office occasionally and have the option to work from home at times.

Duration: The internship can range from 1 to 3 months or longer, depending on performance and project needs.

Stipend: Rs.8000 per month

Joining Date: Immediate.
