Digital India Bhashini, the National Language Translation Mission, with the vision of harnessing natural language technologies to create a diverse ecosystem of contributors, partnering entities and citizens for the purpose of transcending language barriers, thereby ensuring digital inclusion and digital empowerment in an Atma Nirbhar Bharat. To this end, the Mission aims to develop a public digital platform for making available open source artificial intelligence (AI) models in Indian languages to enable speech-to-text and text-to-speech conversion and optical character recognition in these languages and also to enable text-to-text translation and transliteration among these languages and English. Development and efficacy of the AI models requires large and good quality language datasets in speech and text forms. For the mission, Korou Education Foundation is an official partner for Manipuri language.
Engagement
This is a brief overview of the role:
This is work-from-home job.
This is full-time engagement.
Deliverable task is to transcribe pre-recorded Manipuri dialogues and monologues into Manipuri text in Meitei Mayek script.
Transcription will happen for all the 16 districts of Manipur. Length of the voice data could be around 25 hours for each district.
This is an engagement of minimum 12 months, the whole 2023.
Expectation: Transcription of minimum of 10 hours of audio clip and maximum of 15 hours of audio clip in a month.
Requirements
Natives of Manipuri who are native Manipuri speakers.
We need people who can type Meitei Mayek script quite fast, like 70-80 words per minutes.
We need applicants have their own personal laptop in good condition.
We need people who communicate in English for smooth work communication.
Minimum qualification
Any University Graduate is eligible.
Remuneration
Payment will be on output basis. Rs.2000 per one hour of audio clip transcription. A minimum of 10 hours of audio clip need to be transcribed and maximum of 15 hours. So, its Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000 / month
